The 2018 SMHC AGM was held at the Hospice on Wednesday 28th March, after the requisite notice had been posted to all supporters within the timescale. Retiring Hon Sec Michele Brooks welcomed the supporters and pronounced a quorum. Thereafter reports from the Chairman, Andrew Lauder, and the Treasurer, Chris Peet, plus a report by our auditors Pro Vision, were delivered, and all were accepted. The most promising news from all the reports was that the Charity is thriving, income is substantially up in all sectors and our events are becoming not only popular – like the Logicom Marathon – but also well publicised. Essentially, SMHC now has a visible brand that attracts support and assistance.

All resolutions and proposals were accepted and it was noted that a record amount of money has been donated to Archangel Michael Hospice in the year.

The Minutes of the AGM were distributed within a few days, along with the new appointments for two new Trustees, Keith Wallace and Keith Smith, by new Hon Secretary, Nikki Dake. Nikki had been keen to stand down from the Committee before the AGM but Michele’s resignation created a position that required to be filled; we are actively looking for someone to take over. The Trustees thanked Michele and Nigel Payne for all their hard work over the years.

Certificates of appreciation were also presented to our sponsors and supporters.
