The St Michael’s Hospice Charity gala Golf Day was held at Eléa Estate on Wednesday and there were 14 teams of four players taking part; all fees and forfeits went direct to the charity along with other sponsorship. In total over €2000 was banked and everyone had a wonderful day. These are the first unofficial pix (taken by me when not working at something else!) but there will be more/better ones taken by professional photographer Tom Brown which will appear on the SMHC website in due course.
Thanks go to all the sponsors, players and helpers; the Eléa Estate Golf Course staff were lovely as always, the course was in immaculate condition affording delightful views down to the sea and everyone seemed to have a great time.
Thanks also go to Barrie Hattam who organised it all, Andrew MacGregor of Elea and Peter Morton Removals, without whom it would never have happened; and John Eldred who was indefatigable all day.
Winners were The Flamingoes from Akrotiri (in yellow) and runners up the Bees and Emms (Elea/PGA) in orange. If there had been a ‘best dressed’ prize, it would have gone to The Mad Batters whose pink and red outfits with reindeer horns were amazing. The Flamingoes’ Paul Smith won ‘nearest the pin’ on the 14th with a hole in one – the only one of the day.
