GIFT AID
Whether yours is a one off donation or a standing order, if you are a UK taxpayer please consider signing up for Gift Aid. That will enable the Charity to reclaim tax you have paid on your donations. It means every £10 donated become worth £12.50 so it’s well worth while.
Click HERE for a Gift Aid Form for both one-off and regular donations – please complete the relevant section and forward to the SMHC address above
Note: St Michael’s Hospice Charity was one of the first to take advantage of changes to HMRC Gift Aid rules that now allows claims to be made for UK donations to a charity registered in another European Union country. Refunds already received have been worth over £1500!!
The Charity Bank Account was originally set by the Shrewsbury Catenians for a one off fund raising project. They then kindly offered to transfer it to SMHC so allowing us to minimise bank charges both for Donors and the Charity especially when transferring funds from the UK to the main Hospice account in Cyprus.
Are you holding an event in support of the Hospice?
Then PLEASE let us know! Members of the Charity are experienced and can help you with publicity and organization, making the whole fund-raising experience more efficient and successful.
You should note that: if you are holding your event in a public place – like a taverna, café or hotel – under Cyprus law (which is now being strictly enforced) all charitable fund raising events must be either licensed or under a bona fide charity with a charity number. To raise funds for the Hospice you should use the St Michael’s Hospice Charity together with their number as an umbrella, to protect the fundraisers themselves, the venues and the Hospice.
